When a serious injury leaves little time to spare, Health First’s First Flight brings advanced care to patients across Brevard County.
For families waiting after a crash on Interstate 95, the helicopter offers more than a faster trip to the hospital.
Ground responders assess patients first, request air support when needed and select a safe landing area.
That site may be near a neighborhood or business, even when the emergency happened elsewhere.
While flight crews prepare equipment, dispatchers, ground teams and hospitals coordinate the handoff.
Inside the aircraft, crews can provide advanced airway care, mechanical ventilation and blood products for severe bleeding.
First Flight has carried blood products since 1999, helping treatment begin before patients reach a hospital.
The helicopter adds to, rather than replaces, ground ambulance care.
Regular training with Brevard County Fire Rescue and other responders helps teams prepare for the calls that demand both speed and precision. Read More... |

Quote Of The Day |
Gratitude is not about counting what you have before someone takes it away — it is about waking up each morning and deciding that this ordinary, imperfect, beautifully messy day is already more than enough. |

Brevard’s housing market combines steady single-family prices with softer sales activity.
Using a 7.40% mortgage benchmark, a $300,000 home purchase with 20% down illustrates seller-paid 2-1 and 3-2-1 buydowns.
Estimated subsidies total $5,694 and $11,213, respectively, with payments eventually reaching the full note-rate amount.
Buyers and sellers should compare lender limits, closing-cost credits, price reductions and permanent points before negotiating. Read More... |
