Brevard residents have a garden outing to add to their October calendars. The UF/IFAS Brevard Extension Office recently announced the return of the Autumn in Bloom Festival, a free community event celebrating Florida gardening, nature and education.

The festival takes place Saturday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brevard Discovery Garden, 3695 Lake Drive in Cocoa. Visitors can explore the garden, browse local vendors and exhibitors, enjoy food trucks and take part in family activities. A Kids Zone will offer activities and special attractions for younger visitors.

Gardeners will have plenty to browse: the Discovery Garden Nursery plans to offer approximately 2,000 native and Florida-Friendly plants.

Whether you’re refreshing an established yard or imagining the garden at your future Brevard home, the festival offers an opportunity to gather ideas and connect with the local gardening community. Admission is free, and advance registration is encouraged.
