Redrock, Rosalyn and Erie are back in Brevard after receiving care at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
The three young manatees, originally rescued in Brevard waterways, are now continuing rehabilitation at Brevard Zoo.
Their next chapter is about building on that progress, with the goal of eventual release into Florida waters.
The care takes place at the zoo’s behind-the-scenes rehabilitation center, which is not a public exhibit.
For a community closely connected to its lagoons and wildlife, their return offers an encouraging reminder of what coordinated conservation work can accomplish. |
