Orlando Health has unveiled plans for a significant expansion in Viera, Florida, with the upcoming construction of the Orlando Health Viera Hospital and an adjacent medical office building.
The development will span a 40-acre health and wellness campus situated in Borrows West, strategically positioned between Lake Andrew Drive and Interstate 95, just south of Viera Boulevard.
Construction is slated to commence this month, marking a pivotal step in enhancing healthcare services in Brevard County.
Ohme Entin, president of Orlando Health East Region and senior vice president of Orlando Health, expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting its potential to deliver state-of-the-art medical facilities to the community.
The hospital will be constructed in phases, with the emergency department anticipated to open in the fall of 2027.
Upon full completion, the facility is expected to house 240 beds, offering comprehensive services including emergency care, imaging, laboratory work, pharmacy, surgical suites, and catheterization labs.
The accompanying three-story, 60,000-square-foot medical office building will cater to specialty practices focusing on cardiovascular health, neurosciences, and other critical areas.
This expansion is projected to generate over 1,000 new jobs, significantly contributing to the local economy.
Todd J. Pokrywa, president of The Viera Company, emphasized that this development aligns with Viera's long-term vision of establishing robust medical services and employment centers within the community.
Orlando Health is collaborating closely with The Viera Company to bring this transformative project to fruition.

Additionally, the IBIS Medical Office Building, a 14,000-square-foot facility, is under construction across from the hospital, further expanding Viera's medical infrastructure.
These initiatives collectively underscore Viera's commitment to advancing healthcare accessibility and quality for its residents. |
