New Facility to Bolster U.S. Navy's Strategic Deterrence and Boost Local Economy |
Lockheed Martin is set to enhance its presence in Titusville with a new $140 million, 225,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility.
This expansion is projected to bring up to 300 high-wage jobs to the area, with an average annual salary of $89,000.
The facility will produce components for the Trident II D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) missile, supporting the U.S. Navy's strategic deterrence capabilities through 2084.
Construction is underway, with operations expected to commence in 2027.
This development is part of a $383 million contract modification awarded by the U.S. Navy to Lockheed Martin for the D5LE2 program.
In addition to the 300 private sector jobs, the project anticipates the involvement of approximately 100 U.S. Navy personnel.
Florida Secretary of Commerce J. Alex Kelly highlighted the state's commitment to aerospace and defense industries, noting that such strategic investments continue to propel Florida's workforce and bring economic success to local communities.
Lockheed Martin's expansion is expected to have a significant economic impact on Titusville and the broader Space Coast region.
The company's investment underscores its commitment to supporting national defense while contributing to local economic growth.
Residents and local businesses are optimistic about the opportunities this expansion will bring to the community.
As construction progresses, Lockheed Martin plans to collaborate with local educational institutions to develop a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of advanced manufacturing.
This initiative aligns with the company's broader efforts to invest in workforce development and community engagement.
With this expansion, Lockheed Martin continues to play a pivotal role in both national security and the economic vitality of Florida's Space Coast. |
