Brevard Zoo's Lion Enclosure Hosts Unforgettable Wedding Photobomb

In a delightful twist of fate, a Brevard County couple's wedding at the Brevard Zoo became the talk of the town when a lion unexpectedly joined their ceremony.

 

Tara and Tommy Beers exchanged vows in January 2025 within the zoo's newly unveiled lion enclosure.

 

Tara, an event coordinator at the zoo, had the unique opportunity to be the first bride to utilize this distinctive venue.

 

As the ceremony unfolded, one of the resident lions, named Ruaha, became an unanticipated guest.

 

Photographs captured by Nick and Lauren Photography showcase Ruaha placing his paws on the glass, seemingly captivated by the bride's movements.

 

"It was absolutely a dream," Tara shared, reflecting on the experience.

 

"We didn't know how they were going to react. We found out very quickly that they love wedding dresses. And they love anything with a train or sparkles or moving fabric, just like kitty cats."

 

The unexpected interaction added a layer of enchantment to their special day, leaving guests both amused and in awe.

 

Tommy recounted, "When she was walking down, everyone was supposed to look at the bride, but no one was looking at the bride. They were all looking at the lions because they were tracking her, and they are big kitty cats."
