Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas Sets Sail from Port Canaveral

Royal Caribbean's latest marvel, the Star of the Seas, has officially embarked on its maiden voyage from Port Canaveral, marking a significant milestone for the cruise industry and the local community.

 

The departure was met with enthusiastic fanfare as hundreds gathered at Jetty Park to bid farewell to the world's largest cruise ship. The event, dubbed the "Star-Studded Sailabration," featured food trucks, live music, and themed giveaways, creating a festive atmosphere that underscored the community's excitement.

 

Prior to the voyage, a traditional maritime plaque exchange took place aboard the ship. Capt. John Murray, CEO and Port Director of the Canaveral Port Authority, expressed pride in the longstanding partnership with Royal Caribbean and the significance of hosting such a monumental vessel.

 

The Star of the Seas is set to operate seven-day itineraries across the Eastern and Western Caribbean, including stops at Royal Caribbean's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. This addition is expected to bolster tourism and economic activity in the region, benefiting local businesses and attractions.

 

With the capacity to accommodate over 5,000 passengers, the ship offers a plethora of amenities designed to cater to a diverse range of travelers. Highlights include the Category 6 Waterpark, the largest at sea, and the Crown’s Edge, a daring ropes course suspended 154 feet above the ocean.
