Friendly rivalry is taking a helpful turn as Cocoa and Rockledge rally around their annual food drive.

Cocoa’s campaign supports the Sharing Center of Central Brevard, with donations of nonperishable food, toiletries, paper products and baby supplies.

An upcoming collection opportunity is the October 31 Fall Festival at Cocoa Riverfront Park, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Beginning November 2, donors can also use designated drop-off sites during normal business hours, including Cocoa City Hall and the Porcher House.

For neighbors looking to help before the holidays, a few everyday essentials can be a practical place to start.
