FDA Peanut Butter Recall in the US |
Covering the latest on peanut butter recall and peanut butter contamination |
The FDA has recently escalated a recall involving over 20,000 cases of peanut butter products distributed across 40 states.
Initially initiated in 2025, the recall was upgraded to a Class II status on February 12, 2026, after pieces of blue plastic were discovered during production.
The affected items, produced by Ventura Foods LLC, include single-serve peanut butter and peanut butter-and-jelly combination snacks sold under various brand names.
These products were distributed to retailers in numerous states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Consumers are advised to check their pantries and avoid consuming any of the recalled products.
The FDA has not confirmed any illnesses related to this recall but emphasizes the importance of caution.
This incident is part of a series of recent food recalls.
For instance, in December 2025, over 260,000 cases of shredded cheese were recalled due to potential metal fragment contamination.
Additionally, in November 2025, a baby formula recall was issued following a botulism outbreak.
These events highlight the ongoing challenges in ensuring food safety and the critical role of regulatory oversight.
Consumers are encouraged to stay informed about such recalls to protect their health and well-being. |
